Tata Motors Launches Updated Version of Tigor EV in India

Tata Motors has launched the updated version of Tigor EV in India. The company will sell the electric car in three variants XE+, XM+ and XT+. Tata Motors will make the newly launched car available at a starting price of Rs 9.44 lakh. For private buyers, the car will be available at a starting price of Rs 13.09 lakh (ex-showroom, Delhi) and Rs 12.59 lakh (ex-showroom, India).

Ashesh Dhar ,head, sales, marketing and customer service, Electric Vehicle Business, Tata Motors Ltd said, “This new version builds on the success of the award winning Tigor EV, which is already deployed with several fleets and Government customers. This launch reinforces our commitment towards sustainable mobility solutions in India.”

Tigor EV comes with 21.5 kWh battery pack

Tata Motors said that the Tigor EV comes with a 21.5 kWh battery pack that will give an extended range of 213 km on a single charge according to Automotive Research Association of India (ARAI) certification. Tata Motors said that price range for an electric car makes it the cheapest electric car available for commercial buyers.

The vehicle will also qualify under the incentives given in the Government of India’s Faster Adoption and Manufacturing of (Hybrid) and Electric Vehicles (FAME II) scheme. Tata Motors will sell the car in white, silver and blue colours.

Two driving modes

Tata Motors is offering two driving modes in the newly launched car- Drive and Sport. The car comes with shark-fin antenna, EV decals, alloy wheels, Harman tuned sound-system, height-adjustable driver’s seat. The company also claims that the car comes with dual airbags with ABS on the XM+ and the XT+ variant.

Two charging ports for regular and fast charging

Tata Motors claims that the Tigor EV will come equipped with two charging ports. One charging port will be for regular charging and the other for fast charging. The car will come with a three-year warranty which is valid up to 1.25 lakh km.

 Dhar, further added, “Tigor EV Extended Range model aptly addresses the requirements of longer-range applications and also provides higher revenue earning potential for our commercial customers.”
