- The company is ahead of Whirlpool and LG in terms of home appliances business
- Samsung refrigerators accounted for 22.3 per cent of the the total refrigerators market

A recent report by United States’ based market survey firm TraQline says that Samsung has been leading the home appliances market in U.S. for last 12 years. It’s market share, in Q1 2019, increased by 0.3 per cent in comparison to the same quarter last year.
The survey firm also mentioned that both Whirlpool and LG were trailing behind Samsung in the home appliances market in US. Whirlpool home appliances accounted for 16.3 per cent of the U.S. home appliances market while LG Electronics accounted for 15.7 per cent.
Launch of customisable refrigerators
Interestingly, the company may soon launch its Bespoke line of refrigerators in the country. Dubbed as refrigerators that can modified as per taste of a consumer, the compnay has already launched these in its home country Korea. Samsung has launched this refrigerator under Project Prism in Korea.
Samsung Electronics’ president and CEO of Consumer Electronics Division, Hyun Suk Kim, had recently said, “There is a growing trend across this generation, especially among millennials, that sees us valuing personal tastes and experiences foremost. With Project Prism, we are reflecting this trend, and hope that Samsung can become a prism-like medium, able to reflect each and every colorful consumer lifestyle.”
He added, “Project Prism’s philosophy is that only when truly reflecting a consumer’s lifestyle can a home appliance fit seamlessly into their lives – and Bespoke marks the start of this process.”
LED displays in the Heart of New York`s Times Square
The company also recently made news by installing five massive LED screens at at the iconic One Times Square building in New York City on May 31, 2019. When combined, the new high-end displays from Samsung measure more than 11,639 square feet (1,081 square meters).
Prismview, a subsidiary of Samsung Electronics America, was responsible for the design, supply, manufacturing and installation of the project. Last year, Samsung also completed installation of outdoor LED signage at Two Times Square, located opposite from this recently completed project.
