Sony has launched Xperia 8 phones in Japan. Sony is selling the newly launched phones at a price of Rs 54000 Yuan ( Rs 36,000 approx). The company is offering the phone in four colours black, white, orange and cyan. It is not known when the phone will hit Indian markets.
Sony claims that the Xperia 8 comes with a 15.24 cm (6 inch) FHD+ LCD triluminous display with a 21:9 aspect ratio. Sony claims that the device is water and dust resistant with an IP65/68 rating.
Protected by Gorilla Glass 6
Sony claims that display will allow users to view two apps via split screen mode smoothly. Sony also says that the front and back of the phone is protected by Gorilla Glass 6. Sony Xperia 8 is equipped with two cameras at the back. It includes a 12-megapixel f/1.8 main shooter alongside an 8-megapixel f/2.4 ultrawide angle camera.
Sony claims that the camera offers a 2x optical zoom, 4k video recording with EIS, 120fps slow-motion video shooting. The phone comes with an 8 megapixel camera with an f/2.0 aperture.
Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC
The phone is equipped with a Qualcomm Snapdragon 630 SoC with 4GB of RAM and 64GB internal storage. The phone also has a 2,760mAh battery claims Sony.Sony says that the internal storage can be expanded with amicroSD card slot.
Side sense sensors
The Sony Xperia 8 also has a 3.5mm headphone jack with LDAC for high-resolution audio. The phone comes with 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11ac, Bluetooth 5.0 and USB-C.
Sony claims that on the right side of the device, there is a fingerprint scanner for biometric authentication. The phone also has side sense touch sensors. The phone weighs 170 grams
