Launched in China

Like always, Xiaomi has launched its first set of refrigerators in China. It is a known fact that India, after China, is one of the most important markets for Xiaomi. The company may bring these to India soon as the current season in the country is known for consumer electronics sales.

Refrigerator sales in India, as per a report by Research and Markets, are expected to grow with a CAGR of more than five per cent till 2022. This report also said that LG, Samsung, Videocon, Whirlpool, Godrej, Panasonic and Hitachi are the major players operating in the Indian refrigerator industry. Godrej and Videocon were large players in the industry but with the passage of time and technology, they lost their place due to the entry of many international giants. At present, LG and Samsung are the top two players in the market.

“LG Electronics India continued to lead both overall refrigeration appliances and fridge-freezers in volume terms in 2018. However, Samsung India Electronics is giving LG tough competition, vying for the leading position in fridge-freezers, ” read a report by Euro Monitor.
