Xiaomi has been promoting its upcoming K20 smartphone as a flagship killer phone. It’s latest advertisement billboard read, “Starkly superior to the latest One”
China-based Xiaomi seems to be leaving no stone upturned for marketing and advertising its upcoming K20 smartphone in India. Xiaomi’s latest billboard advertisement, installed at a Metro Station in Gurgaon read, “Starkly superior to the latest One.” The catch – It is placed right next to OnePlus 7 Pro’s billboard advertisement featuring Robert Downey Jr.
Not just at one of Gurgaon based Metro stations, but Xiaomi has been installing these billboard ads right next to OnePLus 7 Pro’s advertisments in many other places too. As a matter of fact, Manu Kumar Jain, Global VP, Xiaomi, even posted a tweet regarding the same.
Jain’s tweet read, “Starkly superior to the latest one!” +1 if you liked these punny ads! Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro coming soon! The Flagship Killer 2.0.” Have you noticed it yet? If yes, take a selfie and share it with me.”

Where it all started
These advertisements by Xiaomi, are not the first time that the company is supposedly taking a dig at the OnePlus 7 Pro, it all started the very first time OnePlus launched its 7 Pro smartphone in India. Manu Kumar Jain, on 14 May 2019, had tweeted a congratulatory message for OnePlus in India. Interestingly, OnePlus had launched 7 Pro in the country around that date.
Jains’ cheeky tweet read, “Congratulations @OnePlus team! 👏 There’s a new flagship in town. Flagship Killer 2.0: coming soon.. Hold my dragon!

Xiaomi, as per IDC, has been leading the smartphone market in India for past several quarters. BBK-owned OnePlus, on the other hand, has been one of the top players in the premium smartphone market.
Interestingly, OnePlus has recently appointed Robert Downey Jr, as its brand ambassador. Xiaomi, on the other hand, had recently appointed Ranveer Singh as its brand ambassador in the country.
