Livpure Private Limited has announce the launch of its first smart air conditioner in India. The company claims that its first AC offering is powered by Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning algorithms.
Rakesh Malhotra, founder, Livpure said, “Being at the forefront of innovation in the water purification industry, we wanted to enter an aspirational and growing category to benefit Gen Y consumers. We are excited to launch Livpure smart ACs powered by HEKA technology that shall provide users the advantage of customized comfort plus consume up to 40 per cent less energy. By entering into Air Conditioners, we wish to deliver seamlessly integrated technology to every household at an affordable price.”
AC Market in India
According to a recent report published by Research and Markets, air conditioner market revenues are projected to grow at a CAGR of 12.2 per cent during 2018-2024 in India. The report said that air conditioner market in India is highly competitive and fragmented with the presence of domestic, international and unorganized market participants.
The report read, “The market is broadly divided into seven segments, within that split air conditioner segment dominates the market and would continue to lead throughout the forecast period.”
It further read, “A growing number of middle-class households and rising buying power would continue to accelerate the demand for room split air conditioners (ACs) in India. Increasing office and retail spaces in the country along with booming tourism and hospitality sectors are also contributing to the healthy growth of the Indian air conditioner market.”
Livpure smart AC features
Livpure smart ACs, as per the company, are equipped with Wi-Fi, IOT module and embedded with Artificial Intelligence and Machine Learning. Livpure’s official statement read, “Through HEKA technology, Livpure ACs will observe user’s comfort preferences (temperature settings the user is comfortable at) during 1st week of usage and will thereafter, start applying AI/ML algorithm to optimize the energy efficiency of the AC. This results in savings of up to 40 per cent.”
However, the official statement does not mention of how the technoloy works if in case the number of users is more than one. The ACs are also embedded with HEKA’s i-Diagnosis capability that Livpure claims finds faults or service requirements if any and alerts the service team automatically. A user can also set service schedules as per convenience, through the mobile app for proactive service.
