Sony India has launched WI-C310 and WI-C200 wireless neck-band style headphones in India. Priced at Rs 2,990 and Rs 2,490, these are now among the most affordable wireless headphones sold by Sony in the country.

Targeting mass segment?
The prices, Sony have launched its newest wireless headphones at, seems as if the company is trying to target the mass segment here. Interestingly, a lot of companies are offering Bluetooth powered wireless headphones in prices below Rs 3,000 in India. Xiaomi had recently made its entry into the segment with a Bluetooth wireless headphone priced below Rs 2,000.
Ear-worn devices, as per a recent report by IDC, are expected to grow from 72 million units in 2019 to 105.3 million in 2023. While many of these will be used as the front end to smart assistants or be used to track health-related metrics.
15 hours playback time
Sony is claiming a battery life of up to 15 hours on its latest WI-C310 and WI-C200 in-ear headphones. Company’s official statement read, “To top it off, WI-C310 and WI-C200 come with an upgraded quick charge function. When the battery runs low, just 10 minutes of charging gets you a full 60 minutes of playback. This means that even if you’re in a rush, you’ll soon be ready to get the music going again.”

IDC, in one of its recent reports had said that it expects brands to push forth added benefits such as allowing consumers the ability to cope with hearing loss or giving users the ability to fine tune their daily auditory experience in hearables.
