Anker, through its brand Roav, has entered the dash camera market in India. The company has launched its first dash cam for cars at a price of Rs 5,490 here. Dubbed Dashcam A0, Anker says that its first dash cam is engineered with panoramic optics and features built-in Wi-Fi.
Gopal Jeyaraj, head, India and SAARC said, “The smart home has grown at a fast clip, but there’s another space that we spend a whole lot of time living in, and that is our car. Roav by Anker Innovations offers products which will transform any car into connected smart car with its product line ranging from dash cams, voice-activated car chargers and jump starters”.
It is to be noted here that Kent had also recently forayed into this vertical in India. Unlike Anker’s Rs 5,490 car dash camera, Kent is retailing one for a price tag of Rs 17,999 on Amazon e-commerce portal.
170 degree wide angle lens
This latest product by Anker Roav features a 170 degree wide angle lens. Anker says that this dash cam can be easily attached to a car’s windshield in order to track and record every drive in wide-angle. Anker’s official statement read, “The Roav A0 when connected to the Roav dash cam app (Supports both, Android & Apple, using your smartphones Wi-Fi) streams video from the dash cam to your smartphone to View & Download, that aside, the dash cam’s set-up can be managed from the app than reaching for the camera itself. The recording starts automatically when the camera is plugged in to the car’s cigarette lighter socket.”
The camera supports comes equipped with a chipset, six lens elements, and wide dynamic range image balancing combined to record every drive in 1080p HD resolution. Anker’s official statement continued, “The dash cam also includes a parking monitor mode (thanks to the built-in G Sensor & 240mAh battery), when your car is turned off, on accidental impact from the outside, the camera automatically turns on & starts recording a video. Packaged with an 8GB SD card (camera supports up to 128GB MicroSD cards), the A0 Dashcam ensures you’re good to go – right out of the box.”
