Canon Launches Full-Frame Mirror-Less Camera in India


The company is claiming it to be the lightest and smallest offering in its DSLR camera portfolio in the country

Pointing towards India as one of Canon’s top performing markets, Kazutada Kobayashi, unveiled the Canon EOS RP camera at a launch event in Delhi. Canon will be retailing the camera with prices starting at ₹1,10,495 in the country. The company said that it will also retail the camera with a EOS RP kit at ₹1,99,490.

Kazutada Kobayashi, President and CEO, Canon India said, “With the launch of EOS RP, we have pushed the frontiers of photography in the country, by introducing an affordable and portable product enabling access for photography enthusiasts aspiring to embark on their full-frame mirror less journey.”

Canon EOS RP camera features

The Japan-based camera maker is claiming Canon EOS RP camera to be its lightest and smallest offering in its portfolio of DSLR cameras. Canon’s official tweet read, “Only your captures should carry weight. Introducing the Canon EOS RP, the lightest EOS full-frame camera ever made weighing just 485g.”

It is to be noted here that Canon EOS RP camera, is the second variant in its EOS R range of full-frame mirror-less cameras. The company had launched its first full-frame mirror-less camera in September 2018.

It features a 26.2MP dual pixel CMOS sensor. The company claims that its latest offering is capable of recording videos in 4K format. Canon says that it has equipped EOS RP camera with 0.05 second focus speed and EV-5 focus capabilities.
