Nikon India Pvt. Ltd has launched Nikkor Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct lens in India. Nikon India will sell the lens from November at a price of Rs 549,995.
According to Nikon, the newly launched lens comes with an inner diameter of 55 mm and short flange distance of 16mm. The lens also comes with Arneo coat that helps in clear and crisp images according to Nikon. The lens comes with a ground aspherical lens element which creates improved flexibility in selection of materials and higher surface accuracy according to the company.
High refractive index
Sajjan Kumar, managing director, Nikon India, commented, “The lens delivers thrilling new capabilities for the Z series mirrorless system with vast depth-of-field control and elaborate bokeh for portraiture, superb point-image reproduction and low-light performance for night landscape. It’s all in an immaculately constructed lens with precision feel and brilliant operability.
Nikon says that the new lens will create precise point images during night-time. The lens comes with elements with high refractive index creating images that will be crisp even when a light source is located within the frame claims Nikon.
Precise focus ring
The company says that the lens gives instant confirmation of aperture, focus, distance and depth of field in dimly lit environment. An official statement from the company says, “The number of functions that can be assigned to the lens Fn button has been increased to match those of the Fn1/Fn2 buttons on the camera body.”
The lens also comes with a focus ring that will help in focusing with the right amount of torque and a large angle of rotation says Nikon. The ring will also minimise noise that change of settings generate to capture smoothness and silence in the video as claimed by Nikon.
Kumar further adds, “The state-of-the-art NIKKOR Z 58mm f/0.95 S Noct is one-of-a-kind manual focus lens with the largest maximum aperture of any NIKKOR ever: f/0.95. A testament to delivering ultimate optical performance thanks to the largest mount diameter in the industry.”
