Amazon Echo Show has joined the likes of Echo Input, Echo Dot, Echo, Echo Spot and Echo Plus smart devices
Amazon has announced the launch of its new smart home device Echo Show in the country. Echo Show features 10-inch HD display, a built-in smart home hub and a speaker system with Dolby processing. The US headquartered company is retailing it for Rs 22,999.
“Customers across the country have purchased Echo devices and started their voice-first journey with Alexa. Today, we’re making this voice-first experience better by introducing Echo Show which provides an enhanced audio-visual experience,” said Parag Gupta, Head of Amazon Devices India.
Offers aimed towards driving early sales?
The company has also announced some promotional offers that seem to be aimed towards driving early sales of Echo Show in the country. These include a Philips Hue bulb available at no additional cost with every purchase of Echo Show, Rs 2,000 cashback via Citibank debit and credit cards and no-cost EMI options.
It is to be noted here that Amazon Echo Show has joined the likes of Echo Input, Echo Dot, Echo, Echo Spot and Echo Plus. All these devices are retailed by Amazon in the country.
Amazon Echo Show features
The Echo Show comes with a 10-inch HD display. It is equipped with an eight-microphone array and ‘far-field’ technology to differentiate user voice from ambient sound. The Echo Show screen features dual, side-firing 2-inch Neodymium drivers, a passive bass radiator, and Dolby processing.
Gupta added, “The large screen size will increase utility and make it even easier to ask Alexa to show you things, no matter where you are in the room. And the room filling sound will make watching a music video, catching up on your favorite shows or listening to your favorite playlist more enjoyable.”
Amazon’s official statement read, “With a built-in Zigbee smart home hub, the Echo Show makes it simple to start your smart home. Just say, “Alexa, discover my devices” to automatically discover and setup compatible light bulbs and plugs without the need for additional hubs or apps. Once set-up, ask Alexa to turn on the lights or use the touch-screen to turn devices on and off. You can use Alexa-compatible cameras to view live feed from a camera location without lifting a finger.”
The Echo Show has a built-in 5 MP front-facing camera that supports high-definition video calling. It has built-in web browsers that can be opened by saying, “Alexa, open Silk” or “Alexa, open Firefox.”
