Consumer electronics brand Portronics has announced the launch of ‘Charge Clamp’. Portronics ‘Charge Clamp’ is a product that doubles as a car smartphone holder and wireless smartphone charger.
The launch has been announced at a time when use of smartphones to navigate maps and play music while driving is increasing at a tremendous rate.
Portronics website explains ‘Charge Clamp’ as, “Now you can drive safely while viewing directions on the Google Map or talk on speaker phone as your phone is also getting charged in wireless charging mode. You Do Not have to hold the phone in your hands and take any risk on the road.”
Launch offer to drive sales
The company, in order to drive early sales, is giving a discount of 24 per cent as a launch offer. The Portronics ‘Charge Clamp’ is currently retailing for Rs 1,880 on Amazon India.

Portronics ‘Charge Clamp’ features
Capable of holding smartphones of sizes up to 9 inches, the Portronics ‘Charge Clamp’ doubles as a car mobile holder and Qi-enabled wireless charger. It is compatible with iOS as well as Android devices. Company claims that it can charge a smartphone at a maximum 10 watts output, placed at a maximum distance of up to 8 mm.
Three movable hinges allow a user to choose a convenient viewing angle. Portronics ‘Charge Clamp’ weighs 245 gram and is designed to protect a phone from current surge, over-voltage, over-temperature protection and summer heat, said the company.
Portronics is giving 12-month warranty with ‘Charge Clamp’. The price of the latest Qi enabled smartphone charger is set at Rs 2,499.
