The company has also embedded the TV with hands free voice search using Google Assistant
Sony India has announced the launch of all-new 75-inch (189 cm) television under its X9500G Series with 4K Ultra HD LED display. The company is calling it the its latest flagship LED TV offering in the country. Sony has priced it at Rs 4,49,990 in India.
The TV is based on Android 8.0 OS Oreo support. Sony has equipped the TV with 16GB ROM and the TV supports Bluetooth v4.2 as well. It is to be noted here that the TV is now among the most expensive ones in India.
Electronics For You in March 2019 had said that Sony was gearing to launch 4K TVs in sizes larger than 65-inch in the country. Sony in a recent conversation with media had said that the company is now focusing of profits instead of selling large numbers.
Smart TV market in India
Several homegrown as well as multi-national companies have entered the smart TV market in India during the last few years. Though the number of TV companies offering ‘premium offerings’ is low, the likes of Xiaomi, Kodak and Thomson are retailing smart TVs in various sizes at affordable prices.
Sony, in terms of competition in the premium smart TV segment, will be facing the likes of LG, Samsung and Panasonic. All these brands have a good hold over the premium TVs market in India.
Sony 75-inch X9500G Series TV features
The new 75X9500G comes equipped with X1 Ultimate Picture Processor. Sony’s official statement read, “The ultimate 4K HDR viewing experience with added Object-Based Super Resolution and improved Object-Based HDR Remaster over the previous processing chip. This processor plays a vital role in delivering the high-quality picture with accurate detail and contrast. X1 Ultimate can intelligently detect and analyse each object in the picture meticulously resulting in exceptional detail and contrast for a more realistic picture output.”
Sony has also embedded the TV with calibrated Netflix mode. The company, through its official statement expalined Netflix calibrated mode as, “Sony and Netflix have mastered colour, contrast and motion in the living room with Netflix Calibrated Mode, so you can enjoy entertainment the way the creators intended. This mode was specially developed to enjoy Netflix originals and reproduce the same picture quality on a TV as on a studio evaluation master. With Netflix Calibrated Mode, the creator’s vision and intent is faithfully preserved.”
The TV screen measures 189.3 cm and offers a resolution of 3840×2160 pixels. It also comes embedded with backlight dimming features and gives a total audio output of 20 W.
