Fitbit Launches Versa 2 and Fitbit Premium in India

Fitbit has launched Versa 2 smartwatch and Fitbit Premium subscription-based fitness service in India. The company will sell the smartwatch at a price of Rs 20,999. The company plans to sell the smartwatch through offline channels like Croma, Helios, Landmark, and Reliance Digital and online channel Amazon India.

The smartwatch and the fitness service were launched globally in US during August of this year. The company also launched the Fitbit Versa 2 special edition in India. The company will sell it at a price of Rs 22,999. The company is selling the special edition Fitbit in navy, pink with a copper rose aluminium case and smoke with a mist grey case.

Fitbit Premium service at Rs 819 per month

Fitbit says the Fitbit Premium service is available at Rs 819 per month and Rs 6,999 per year. This paid subscription will let the subscriber access to the Fitbit app which will give the user a personalised experience with guidance and coaching to help the user achieve health and fitness goals says the company.

During the global launch in August, James Park, co-founder and CEO of Fitbit said, “Building on the success of our original best-selling Versa smartwatch, we believe the added value and innovation in Versa 2 with new features like Alexa, a Spotify app and advanced in-app and on-device sleep features, will bring more users into the smartwatch category, allowing them to unlock the benefits of better health.”

Relative SpO2 sensor for detecting blood oxygen levels

The company says that the Fitbit Versa 2 comes with a square-shaped AMOLED display which is always-on for a glance at any given time to check workout progress. It also has an optical heart rate monitor, a 3-axis accelerometer, an altimeter and an ambient light sensor. It comes with a Relative SpO2 sensor for detecting blood oxygen levels.

The smartwatch has an inbuilt microphone and the option to stream and download music through Spotify. The company claims the smartwatch comes with a five day battery life and smart wake features.

The smartwatch also has over 15 exercise modes and can be used for running and swimming. The watch can keep track of REM sleep stages and continuous heart rate tracking through PurePulse.
