Samsung Galaxy Watch Active 2

Samsung has launched the Watch 4G and Watch Active 2 in India. The company will sell the variants of the Galaxy Watch Active 2 in aluminum and stainless-steel case at Rs 26,990 and Rs31,990 respectively. The Samsung Watch 4G will be sold by Samsung for the 46mm and 42mm versions at Rs 30,990 and Rs 28,490 respectively.

Samsung claims that the Galaxy Watch 4G is the “first e-sim device from Samsung that allows consumers to stay in touch even without their phones.”

The company says that it will sell both the products on online portals like Amazon, Flipkart as well as the Samsung Shop from 11th October.

Corning’s Gorilla glass DX+ for protection

Samsung says that the Galaxy Watch Active 2 comes with a 1.4-inch display. It also has a Super AMOLED always-on screens with a resolution of 360 x 360 pixels. It comes with Corning’s Gorilla glass DX+ for protection as claimed by the company.

Aditya Babbar, director, mobile business, Samsung India added, “At Samsung, we understand that inspiration comes at a moment’s notice. The Galaxy ecosystem has been created to maximize these very moments. All the products that we launch today are aimed at assisting and propelling users through their day.”

Rotating touch bezel

The watch has a 340mAh battery and Exynos 9110 processor and with up to 1.5GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage. The screen on the watch has a rotating touch bezel to allow users to interact with the smartwatch’s UI by moving their fingers in a clockwise or counterclockwise direction says Samsung.

The watch is equipped with Tizen platform and is compatible with devices running Android 5.0 or higher or iOS 9.0 or above. Samsung claims that the watch comes with 5 ATM water resistance. It has sensors like a heart-rate sensor, ECG sensor, accelerometer, gyroscope, barometer, and ambient light sensor.

Up to 80 hours of battery life

Samsung claims that the Galaxy watch 4G comes with LTE connectivity option. The company says that the device will be able to make calls, messages, use maps and music. The company claims that it can deliver up to 80 hours of battery life.

The 46 mm variant has a 1.3-inch Circular Super AMOLED always-on display with Corning Gorilla DX+ and 42mm models come with a 1.2-inch screen. Samsung says that the 42 mm model is backed by a 472mAh battery while the 42mm comes with 270mAh battery. The watches have 1.5GB of RAM and 4GB of internal storage for the LTE version and the Bluetooth variant has 768MB RAM and 4GB of internal storage.

Sleep tracker

Samsung claims that the watch comes with a stress management tracker that detects high levels of stress and offer breathing exercises to its users. The watches also come equipped with a sleep tracker that can monitor all level of sleep including REM cycles.
