Anker Launches Smart Car Consumer Electronics Brand in India


Roav by Anker is retailing an Alexa enabled smart car charger as its first product in the country. Soundcore is another brand that operates under the umbrella of Anker Innovations

Roav by Anker Innovations has entered the Indian Markets with a Alexa enabled smart car charger. Priced at Rs 5,490, the company said that it is the first Alexa enabled smart car charger in India. Anker has christened this charger as Viva Pro.

Speaking about Roav’s entry into Indian Markets, Gopal Jeyaraj, head, India and SAARC said, “Smart homes have grown at a fast clip, but there’s another space that we spend a whole lot of time living in – our cars. Roav by Anker Innovations offers products which will transform any car into connected smart car with its product line ranging from dash-cams, voice-activated car chargers and jump starters.”

This smart charger supports two integrated microphones that relay every word to Alexa. It is equipped with Acoustic Echo Cancellation that, as per the company, delivers noise cancellation and accurate voice identification. The Viva Pro hears both a driver and passenger’s voice clearly, even when music is playing. A blue LED ring around the top of the device lights up when it is on the listening mode. On the top of the device is a large button that mutes the microphone (the LED turns red when the mic is off).

Roav’s official statement read, “Plug the Roav Viva Pro into the cigarette lighter in your car, download the App (Android and IOS) and you are ready to go! The Viva Pro gives you four options for streaming audio from your phone to your car’s stereo: Bluetooth, USB, the Aux cable and FM radio. Enabling hands-free calling, the smart car Charger, also comes with dual USB ports, that deliver high speed charging with Power IQ technology.”

It continued, “Supporting multi-connectivity options, Viva Pro, can be used in virtually any car connecting via Bluetooth, CarPlay, Android Auto, Aux-Out or FM Transmission. The product is already available at leading automotive accessories retailers, gadget retailers and e-tailers. It shall also be available on Amazon from June 2019.”
