Panasonic Launches P85 NXT in India, Targets Entry Segment Smartphones

Japan based electronics manufacture Panasonic has announced the launch of P85 NXT smartphone in India. Panasonic’s latest smartphone will be company’s newest offering in the entry-segment of smartphones.

Panasonic claims that the P85 NXT will come integrated with Arbo Hub, a proprietary AI-powered digital hub of apps suited for user needs. The list of key highlights in the Panasonic P85 NXT includes a rear-mounted fingerprint sensor, LED flash supported rear and front camera setup and face unlock feature.

Panasonic P85 NXT India price

Panasonic has set a price of Rs 6,999 for its latest smartphone offering. The company claims that P85 will be available via offline channels in the country. Another first, as most smartphone makers are focusing on selling their products over the online space.

The smartphone manufacturer has specifically tied up with a network centric B2B trade platform – Udaan, for sale of Panasonic P85 NXT in the Indian market.

P85 smartphone will be available in dark blue, champagne gold and black colors in India.

Featuring a five-inch HD display with cornering Gorilla Glass 1 for protection and 2.5D curved glass, the Panasonic P85 comes coupled with 2GB RAM and 16GB internal storage space that is expandable up to 128GB via microSD card.


Panasonic has integrated P85 with a 1.3GHz quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 SoC processor. The smartphone maker generally does not offer smartphones powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon line-up of mobile processors.


P85 comes with a single eight-megapixel rear camera supported by a LED flash that boosts autofocus feature. The front camera on this latest smartphone is a five-megapixel fixed-focus shooter.

Panasonic, keeping selfies in mind, has also provided an LED flash on the front.


The mammoth 4,000mAh battery should last at least a day on a single full charge. Panasonic has not mentioned whether the battery on P85 NXT will support fast charging or not.


Standard smartphone connectivity features including Wi-Fi, 4G VoLTE,  Bluetooth v4.1, GPS/ A-GPS, FM radio, a Micro-USB port with OTG support, and a 3.5mm headphone jack are all available on the Panasonic P85.
