Samsung Launches Fourth M Series Smartphone in India

• M40 will compete against the upcoming Mi pop-up camera smartphone
• Samsung sells M Series devices exclusively through online sale channel in India

Samsung has introduced its M 40 smartphone at a price of Rs 19,990 in India. This latest Samsung M series smartphone features infinity O display, triple rear camera setup. Interestingly, unlike its siblings from the M series, Samsung has launched this smartphone in one variant only.

“Samsung’s Galaxy M smartphones have met with unprecedented success in India. Designed for young millennials and Gen Z consumers, Galaxy M series was conceptualized in India. We are confident that the discerning millennial consumers will be delighted with the new M40 device”, said Asim Warsi, SVP, Samsung India.

The company will be selling the smartphone exclsusively through Amazon e-commerce portal in India. Manish Tiwary, VP, Category Management, Amazon India, “Samsung Galaxy M Series – M10, M20 & M30, was inarguably one of the biggest launches in the first quarter. The series is a great example of leveraging customer insights from Amazon India website to craft products that customers seek and value.”

Launch offers to drive sales?

Though the smartphone will be available for buying starting 18 June 2019 in the country, Samsung has already announced offers that seem targeted towards driving sales of its latest offering. Samsung’s official statement read, “Galaxy M40 customers on Jio 4G would be entitled to Double-Data on Rs. 198 and Rs. 299 plans. This exclusive offer gives users on the Rs. 198 recharge, savings worth Rs. 3,110 over 10 recharges and with the Double-Data benefit, the freedom to enjoy unlimited video, music, cricket and much more.”

It continued, “Galaxy M40 customers on Vodafone & Idea – on recharge of Rs. 255 – would be entitled for cashback worth Rs. 3,750 (as recharge vouchers of Rs. 75 for up-to 50 recharges). They would also get additional 0.5 GB data/day for up-to 18 Months. Galaxy M40 customers on Airtel would be entitled to 100% extra data for a period of 10 months. Users on the Rs. 249 plan will get 4GB data/day – a benefit of additional. 560GB data over 10 months. Users on the Rs. 349 plan will get 6GB data/day – a benefit of additional 840 GB data over 10 months.”

Triple camera setup

The biggest highlights and pull factors of this Samsung smartphone might be its 6.3-inch infinity O display and a three camera setup on the rear. It is to be noted here that Samsung has equipped this infinity O display only on its premium flagship Samsung 10 Series smartphones and now the M40.
