Samsung Galaxy Note 10Samsung Electronics has unveiled the Galaxy Note 10, its new line of premium smartphones in India. The Korea-based consumer electronics company has launched Galaxy Note 10 in 6.3-inch and 6.8-inch screen sizes. It also features Samsung’s S Pen.
“From the very beginning, the Galaxy Note has stood for the best-of-the-best technologies and features. The Galaxy Note 10 re-imagines this promise for the modern Note fan who uses their smartphone to take their productivity and creativity to the next level, and who effortlessly flows between ideas and endeavors at a moment’s notice,” said DJ Koh, president and CEO of IT and Mobile Communications Division, Samsung Electronics.
Premium smartphone market in India
Smartphone shipments (Q2 2019) in the premium segment (≥₹30,000 or roughly ≥US$430) grew an impressive 33 per cent annually in India way above the single-digit overall smartphone shipment growth during Q2 2019. As per a recent report published by Counterpoint Research this growth was mainly driven by new flagship launches from OnePlus in terms of OnePlus 7 series, price cuts from Apple for its iPhone XR and aggressive promotions from Samsung for Galaxy S10 series.
The report read, “Samsung dropped to the second position in overall premium-segment holding 22 per cent share with volumes declining 16% YoY. However, promotions for the S10 series remain strong. Galaxy S10 Plus was the top model for Samsung despite the availability of cheaper Galaxy S10e. This shows that India consumers are ready to pay more for a premium experience.”

Two sizes for the first time
The Galaxy Note 10 comes in two sizes for the first time. Samsung’s official statement read, “The Galaxy Note 10 opens up the Note to users who want the power of the S Pen and ultimate productivity in a compact form factor, packing a 6.3-inch Cinematic Infinity Display into the most compact Note yet. The Galaxy Note10+ features the biggest Note display ever with a 6.8-inch Cinematic Infinity Display on a device that’s still easy to hold and easy to use.”
“Every element of the Galaxy Note10 was designed to help users achieve more. Whether they’re finishing a big project for work, capturing and editing a video, or playing their favorite mobile game, the Galaxy Note10 will help them do it faster and better,” added DJ Koh.
