Adding one more device to its online M series, Samsung has launched the M30 smartphone in India. The brand is claiming it to be a Made in India smartphone. Xiaomi Note 7, Samsung M30’s rival, is also slated to be launched today.

Samsung’s official tweet read, “The 3X powered device, #GalaxyM30 with a Super AMOLED Infinity U screen, massive 5,000 mAh battery, a triple rear camera with 4 GB RAM/64 GB ROM will be available at a starting price of ₹14,990/- only on Amazon from 7th March onwards.”

Asim Warsi, Sr. VP, Samsung India, said, “For millennials, the phone’s display is the window to their world. The Galaxy M30 comes with a stunning Super AMOLED 16.21-cm (6.4-inch) FHD+ Infinity-U display for an un-paralleled viewing experience.”

Competition from Xiaomi Note 7 and Realme 3

The Korea-based smartphone maker will be facing tough competition from China-based Xiaomi and Realme as both the companies will be launching their new smartphones in India soon. While Redmi Note 7 is slated to launch today, Realme 3 will be launched on 7 March 2019 in the country.

It is believed that Redmi Note 7 will be launched in the same price category as the Samsung M 30. Samsung is retailing the 4 GB RAM variant of M30 at Rs 14,990, and the 6 GB variant at Rs 17,990 in the country. However, equipping M30 with a Super AMOLED display screen might just work in favour of Samsung.

Xiaomi’s team has been promoting the upcoming Note 7 as a game-changing smartphone. The company’s social media handles have, time and again, dropped hints that the Note 7 will feature a 48 MP rear camera.

Samsung M30 features

Samsung’s latest offering comes equipped with a 16.21-cm (6.4-inch) Super AMOLED screen and sports a water notch display. It features a 5,000 mAh battery that, as per the company, supports fast charging.

It is powered by a 8 GHz octa-core Exynos 7904 processor. Samsung M30’s OS is based on Samsung Experience 9.5 UI and Android 8.1 Oreo.

Another highlight of the smartphone is its triple camera setup at the rear. It is a combination of a 13MP primary rear camera, a 5MP ultra-wide lens and a 5MP depth sensor. Samsung has equipped a 16MP front shooter in its latest offering.

Warsi added, “The Galaxy M30 is the first smartphone to come with a triple-rear camera in its price segment. From low-light to ultra-wide group shots to portrait shots and much more, it captures exactly what your eyes can see.”
