Vivo Launches New Device in the Affordable Smartphone Category


Xiaomi, Samsung and Realme had recently launched smartphones in the same category. This segment is one among the most selling smartphone categories in India

Vivo has announced the launch of Y91i smartphone in India. The company is retailing it in 16GB and 32GB ROM variants. The 2GB RAM and 16GB ROM Variant has been announced at Rs 7,990, while the 2GB RAM and 32GB ROM variant has been announced at a price tag of Rs 8,490 in the country.

Interestingly, the below Rs 10,000 smartphone segment is witnessing a plethora of smartphone launches in India. The likes of Xiaomi, Samsung and Realme have already launched smartphones in this category.

While Xiaomi has launched Note 7, Samsung has launched M10, and Realme has introduced Realme 3 in the same category. All these smartphones are priced below Rs 10,000 in India.

Vivo Y91i features

Vivo Y91i comes equipped with a 6.22-inch HD+ screen that offers a resolution of 1520×720 pixels. It weighs 163.5 grams and measures 155.11×75.09×8.28mm. This latest Vivo smartphone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon Octa-Core MediaTek Helio P22 12nm processor coupled with 2GB of RAM and 16GB/32GB of storage options. The company claims that the external storage can be expanded up to 256GB via microSD card.

Based on Android 8.1 (Oreo) and Funtouch OS 4.0, this smartphone features a 13 MP rear camera sensor and LED flash. Vivo has equipped the camera with a 8 MP sensor on the front. It also features face unlock, but lacks a fingerprint sensor. The compnay has equipped with a 4030 mAh battery.

Connectivity options on the device include WiFi, Bluetooth, GPS and dual 4G VoLTE SIM card layout.
