LG India has announced the launch of a Bureau of Energy Efficiency (BEE) 5 Star rated washing machine in India. The company now has 5 Star BEE products under most of its consumer electronics portfolio in India.

Expecting 5 Star washing machines to account for 80 per cent sales
The company said that it is expecting 5-star washing machines to account for 80 per cent of overall washing machines sales in the country. Interestingly, Voltas has also recently launched 5 Star rated washing machine models in the country.
Vijay Babu, added, “Our objective has always been to offer the best of products to our customers that suits their needs and lifestyle. We are confident that this new feature will elevate the experience of both our existing and future consumers. We expect 5-star contribution in overall washing machine sales will be approximately 80 per cent.”
Powered by a smart inverter motor
This new 5 star LG washing machine is powered by a smart inverter motor. LG said that this motor adjusts energy consumption to offer up to 30 per cent energy savings and up to 40 percent water saving. The motor comes protected with a BMC which, as per LG insulates the machine from dust, insects and humidity. LG is offering 10 years of warranty on this new washing machine.
India washing machine market is projected to witness a CAGR of over four per cent during 2019-2024. A report by Techsci Research said that the fully automatic washing machine segment is expected to register the highest CAGR during the forecast period, owing to growth in urbanization and its user-friendly feature.
