Zaap ‘Aqua’ will be facing tough competition from speakers on offer by several brands including the likes of Altec Lansing and Starkwood in India
Consumer electronics company Zaap Tech has announced the launch of its latest waterproof Bluetooth speakers in India. Dubbed ‘Aqua’, the company claims that these waterproof speakers can be used while taking showers. The company has priced ‘Aqua’ speakers at Rs 1,699 in the country.
Zaap ‘Aqua’ will be facing tough competition from similar speakers on offer by several brands including the likes of Altec Lansing and Starkwood in India.
Zaap ‘Aqua’ waterproof speaker features
Compatible with iOS, android and Windows devices, Zaap Aqua speakers, as per the company, allow up to six hours of battery backup on a single charge. Zaap has also equipped these speakers with built-in microphones. These speakers offer connectivity of up to 33 feet.
Zaap says that the rubberised rugged exterior offers resistance against drops. The company is also providing a removable suction cup for use while in a shower. The Aqua speaker is rated IP67 for 100 percent protection against water, shock, snow and dust. It comes bundled with a ‘carabineer clip’ and can be carried anywhere as an accessory for outdoor parties, showers, poolside parties, group camping and other rugged activities.
The speaker comes powered by a 3-watt driver that according to Zaap delivers a 360 degree high definition surround sound. It’s housed inside a round compact design with physical buttons to change tracks or adjust the volume. The speaker can be connected to a smartphone, tablet or a computer in under 6 seconds.
Despite it’s IP67 tag, the company has advised users not to dip the speakers in water. However, the company website claims that ‘Aqua’ speakers can withstand heavy water splashes.
Founded in 2014, Zaap Technologies claims to have 8 million plus customers all across the world. The brand is present in USA, Germany and India. It’s product portfolio includes speakers, headphones, smart chargers and power banks among others.
