Abhijit Gajendragadkar Resigns From Voltas Group

• Abhijit was serving Voltas as its Chief Financial Officer (CF0)
• Anil George, Deputy Managing Editor, will be taking over as the new CFO

Abhijit Gajendragadkar, after being associated with Tata Group fore more than 15 years, has called it quits. He was currently serving as the chief financial officer of Tata owned Voltas brand in India.

An official statement released by Voltas expalins his resignation as, “Chief Financial Officer (CFO) and KMP of the Company has decided to pursue interests outside Voltas and would be relieved from his duties on 30th June, 2019. The Board placed on record their appreciation for the contribution made by Mr. Abhijit Gajendragadkar during his tenure as the CFO of the Company and wished him good luck.”

Anil George to be the new CFO

Anil Geroge, currently serving as deputy managing director at Voltas, has been appointed as the new CFO of Voltas. He will be taking the CFO charge from 1 July 2019. George is also on the Board of various subsidiary /joint venture companies
of Voltas Limited, in India as well as overseas.

George is a chartered accountant. He had joined Voltas in July 2010 as executive vice president, Corporate Affairs and CFO (designate). He was then appointed as the CFO of the Company in May 2011 and promoted as president (corporate affairs) and
CFO in August 2013. Thereafter, he was appointed as executive director with effect from 1 September, 2017 and as deputy managing director with effect from 10 February 2018.

Voltas’ official statement read, “Further, based on recommendation of the Nomination & Remuneration Committee and Audit Committee, the Board of Directors of the Company have at its Meeting held on 11thJune, 2019 approved the proposal of Mr. Anil George, Deputy Managing Director, taking over the responsibility of CFO of the Company in place of Mr. Abhijit Gajendragadkar and will be re-designated as ‘Deputy Managing Director & CFO’ with effect from 1st July, 2019.”

Prior to joining Voltas, George has worked with Union Carbide India Limited for six years and with Hindustan Unilever Limited for 20 years. He has also worked with Tata Services Limited for three years during 2007-2010, prior to joining Voltas.
