Szymon Kopeć, global head, Software Product Growth, Oneplus has decided to quit Oneplus and move on to the next assignments in life. Though he has not made it clear which organization he is joining next, it is a rumour that he may work in one of the India based technology firms.
“My journey with Oneplus is coming to an end. Thank you, dear Community, friends in media and my colleagues for these fantastic 3 years. I’ve put together some thoughts, in case you wonder how it has been,” read one of his recent tweets.

With Oneplus for three years
Apart from being one of the key speakers at Oneplus smartphone launch events, Szymon Kopeć was also active on social media. Interestingly, he was promoted to his current designation in August 2019. Before being promoted as a global head, Szymon was working at Oneplus as a product head at company’s facility located in Hyderabad, India.
He worked as a product head with Oneplus for approximately two years. Szymon had joined Oneplus as a product manager in October 2016.
“Being a part of last 7 product launches, creating product team from a scratch and working with some fantastic people to finally release first version of India OxygenOS has been an experience like no other, undoubtedly a peak point of my career so far,”read a post he wrote recently.
It continued, “Joining OnePlus has been my dream ever since I held OnePlus One for the first time. Recruitment process wasn’t easy; I’ve been applying for a solid 6 months, hearing that without Chinese speaking skills they can’t hire me to the HQ, where product is being made. Fortunately, after spamming couple of people over LinkedIn, my resume reached Brian, who lead OxygenOS team at the time, and since then, in literally three days I was packing my bags and booking a one way ticket to China.”
