Manish Sharma, executive officer, Panasonic has been appointed as a Chairperson in the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce & Industry (FICCI). He is also associated with Panasonic as its CEO and president for India and South Asia.
“Honoured to be appointed as the Chairperson of FICCI India electronics manufacturing committee. I will uphold the trust placed in me to anticipate and answer the needs of the industry through appropriate policy and regulatory channels,” read a recent tweet posted by him.

Committee constituted in 2012
This FICCI India electronics manufacturing committee was constituted in 2012. The first seminar that it organised was on opportunities and challenges for manufacturing of electronic system and design in west Bengal. However, there has been no update on any such events on the FICCI website after October 2017.
The core of this committee, as per the FICCI website, is to suggest policies and programmes that would help the sector to promote domestic manufacturing of electronics hardware. Consumer Electronics, IT hardware, mobile devices, industrial electronics and may other categories are covered under this committee.

Manish Sharma has been associated with the consumer electronics industry since August 1996. Before starting to work with Panasonic in 2010, he was associated with Haier. He has also worked with LG and Samsung in the past.
In fact, in his career so far, he has worked on the R&D, manufacturing, sales and marketing roles. He was also the president of consumer electronics and appliances manufacturers association.
