Manu Kumar Jain, MD, Xiaomi India took to Twitter to announce the appointment of Varun Madan to the Xiaomi India team. Varun Madan has joined Xiaomi starting April 2019, as company’s human resources director.
Jain’s tweet read, “Excited to welcome Varun to Xiaomi India! Varun joins us as our HR Director & will head end to end people function. He has 17+ years experience and was employee number two in leadership team at OLX India.” Jain also a posted a photograph with Madan.
Madan has previously worked with OLX India, Make My Trip and P.E. Analytics. He started his career as a sales reprsentative and has pursued Executive MBA in in HR from XLRI Jamshedpur.
Varun Madan before joining Xiaomi
Madan, as per his Linkedin profile starting working as a customer sales representative in January 2002 with Renasonic E-solutions. He left Renasonic in October 2002 and joined Convergys as a trainer before moving on to Make My Trip in April 2006. Madan worked as a deputy manager in Make My Trip’s human resources team untill August 2011.
In August 2011, he changed his job once again and joined P.E. Analytics in the company’s human resources team. His stint with P.E. lasted only for 15 months and he moved on to join OLX in October 2012.
he was working with OLX for last six years before joining Xiaomi in April 2019. It is unclear whether he took a break for September 2018 to April 2019 period, or whether he was employed with any other company during that period.
