- Mi Band 4 launched earlier did not have Near Field Communication outside China
- The report says that the launch may happen in the second quarter of next year
According to a report by Gizmochina, Xiaomi is working on the Mi Band 5 which will come with Near Field Communication (NFC) technology. It is quite likely that that this NFC technology which will be available in China, will also be introduced in Indian market as well.
The report says that when Mi Band 4 was launched in June this year, it offered two options with NFC or without NFC within China. The report also says that when Mi Band 4 was launched globally, it came only with one option which was the non-NFC one.
Launch in second quarter of next year
According to Gizmochina, the Mi Band 5 will come equipped with a rugged design which would make it more durable and help in making in last longer. The report says that the launch may happen in the second quarter of next year.
The Mi Band 4 features a 2.41 cm (0.95-inch) colour AMOLED touchscreen display with 120×240 pixel resolution. Mi claims that customers can monitor their physical activities such as cycling, exercise, running, swimming and walking on it. The band also comes with a six-axis accelerometer that enables it to track activities accurately.
Band 4 has 20 days battery life
Xiaomi has claimed that the Mi Band 4 has a 20 days battery life on a single charge. The band also comes with Google Assistant and a microphone. The company claims that the band supports swimming activities like backstroke, freestyle, butterfly breaststroke and mixed style.
The report by Gizmochina says that the MI Band 4 which comes with NFC also supports wireless payments and it can also be used as an identity card at work. The report also claims that this band can replace metro or bus cards if this technology can be implemented.
