Oneplus is a smartphone brand that works under the umbrella of BBK. China-based BBK also operates Vivo, Oppo, Realme, Iqoo and Reno smartphone brands.

Huawei has introduced smart TVs in China

Interestingly, Huawei has introduced its first smart TVs in China recently. The company, apart from launching smart TVs under its sub-brand Honor, also announced that its smart TVs will be based on Harmony OS. Harmony OS is an operating software developed by Huawei.

According to a research Research and markets, Smart TV Market in India is expected to grow at a CAGR of 30.2 per cent during 2018 to 24. Households in India are at a cusp of transition and a shift in preference has been witnessed from conventional TV sets to smart TV sets.

Speaking about LED TV brands in India, Faisal Kawoosa, founder, techarc had recently told EFY Group, “I expect to see more brands entering in the LED TV space. The focus would be more on bringing the product in the entry to mid level of markets. I would expect the government to put in a real serious effort in TVs at least, where volumes might not be as high as smartphones. But, local content + manufacturing could make some differentiation in the market. This is the segment, which in my opinion, is manageable as India is still in its infancy stage in terms of electronics manufacturing.”

It is to be noted here that more than 100 TV brands are registered on platforms like Flipkart and Amazon. There could be various more operating in the local markets in India.
