- Airtel will offer a discount of Rs 500 to Samsung and Xiaomi smart TV buyers
- The box comes with over 500 TV channels to choose from

DTH operator Airtel Digital TV has partnered with Samsung and Xiaomi to offer a Rs 500 discount on HD set top box and Airtel Xstream Box. Airtel Digital TV will also make this discount available to customers buying a new smart TV from Samsung or Xiaomi. A report by TelecomTalk says that the users accessing this scheme will get access to three months of free channel pack.
Airtel sells the Xstream box at a price of Rs 3999 but with the discount, the box will be available for Rs 3499. Airtel had recently launched the hybrid set top box Xstream Box which integrates satellite TV and OTT (over the top) platforms.
Access six million songs
The company says that the Airtel Xstream box comes a 2GB RAM and 8GB storage. The box can be connected to a USB thumb drive or an external HDD. The box comes with two USB 2.0 ports to support this feature. The box has a microSD card with support for up to 128 GB
The box comes with over 500 TV channels to choose from according to Airtel. The OTT partners for the box include ZEE5, Hooq, Hoi Choi, Eros Now, HungamaPlay, ShemarooMe, Ultra, and Curiosity Stream. Airte says that users can also access over six million songs from Wynk music’s library.
Runs on Android 9 Pie
According to Airtel, the Xstream box is equipped with a HDMI 2.0 port, composite output and a SPDIF port. The box runs on Android 9 Pie which gives access to Google play store and compatible apps and games in it.
Airtel offers a complimentary one-year subscription to Xstream app which is priced at Rs 999. The customer gets a one-month subscription to HD DTH pack which comes at a monthly rate of Rs 207.
