Airtel Xstream Box ( Pic Credit- onlinedth)DTH operator Airtel is offering its HD set-top box and SD set-top boxes at discounted price. The company is now selling the HD set-top box at a price of Rs 1300 though it was originally priced at Rs 1800.
Airtel is selling the SD set-top box at a price of Rs 1100 while its original price is Rs 1650. This makes the boxes available for a discount of Rs 500 and Rs 550 respectively on the HD set-top box and SD set-top box.
Tata Sky slashed prices
Airtel’s competitor Tata Sky had also slashed prices of its HD and SD set-top boxes in July. The company reduced the price of the HD set-top box at Rs 1499 while its original price was Rs 1699. The company was selling the SD set top box at a price of Rs 1399 while its original price was Rs 1499. Another competitor DishTV is selling its DishNXT HD set-top box for Rs 1590 and its DishNXT set-top box at Rs 1490.
Partnering with Samsung and Xiaomi
Airtel Digital TV had recently partnered with Samsung and Xiaomi to offer a Rs 500 discount on HD set top box and Airtel Xstream Box. Airtel Digital TV made the discount available to customers buying a new smart TV from Samsung or Xiaomi.
Airtel sells the Xstream box at a price of Rs 3999 but with the discount, the box is available for for Rs 3499. Airtel had recently launched the hybrid set top box Xstream Box which integrates satellite TV and OTT (over the top) platforms.
The company says that the Airtel Xstream box comes a 2GB RAM and 8GB storage. The box can be connected to a USB thumb drive or an external HDD. The box comes with two USB 2.0 ports to support this feature. The box has a microSD card with support for up to 128 GB.
