Canon India has announced the opening of its flagship Canon Image Square (CIS) store in New Delhi. The flagship CIS store, as per the company, is aimed to enrich the consumer experience for all the Canon products across segments ranging from entry level cameras to high end professional cameras.
Eddie Udagawa, vice president, Consumer Imaging and Information Centre, Canon India, said, “New Delhi is one of the key markets for us, not just in terms of customer base but also for being abreast with the technology trends that influence other markets. We look forward to receiving great feedback from our customers and add value to their imaging experience.”
Interestingly, Sony India had also recently announced the opening of its first experiential store in Bangalore India. Sony, during the opening of its first camera lounge had said that the camera lounge will provide an immersive experience of Sony’s range of Alpha cameras along with full line-up of Sony lenses, shooting accessories, professional camcorders and premium compact cameras. It is to be noted here that Canon and Sony compete against each other in the camera market here.
Canon showcasing a range of products
Canon India is using the store to showcase cinema cameras, Canon printers and wide range of Canon lenses at the store. While Sony did not mention about any plans of opening more of its camera lounges in the country, Canon on the other hand said that it is present at more than 250 stores in 100+ cities in India.

Canon’s official statement read, “Various innovative sales and marketing tools like live demonstration of the products, touch and feel experience, trainings and workshops further will help the customers to make informed purchases. Apart from that, the store will also provide easy finance facilities such as EMI through various credit cards, paper finance through Bajaj Finance and cash back options.”
