Dish TV India has announced a new user interface called ‘Orbit’ for its SMRT and Magic range of connected products. This interface is live for Dish SMRT and d2h Magic range of products. It will be rolled out for android set-top box Dish SMRT Hub soon.
The company said that this new interface has been developed to create a balance between entertainment and information. The interface will come integrated with Live TV, OTT and other value-added services as per the company. The company has teamed up with Tata Elxsi to develop the user experience design (UX).
Artificial intelligence and machine learning
As per Dish TV, the interface will use artificial intelligence and machine learning to make it easier for the user to find content on TV. It will solve the problem where users are restricted to traditional remotes while watching TV.

My Zone section
The new interface will also allow users to access featured content and new and trending content available on different OTT apps at the same time. The company will do this through deep-linking support. It also has a My Zone section which will give recommendations according to the user’s preferences. The user can also access items from this section.
