HMD Global, the home of Nokia phones, has announced that the Nokia 5.1 Plus will be available across mobile retailers in the country. The smartphone is already available on online channels including Flipkart and Nokia India website.
Ajey Mehta, vice president and country head, India, HMD Global had said, “With Nokia 5.1 Plus we wanted to bring a phone that was high on performance. Nokia 5.1 Plus is for our tech-savvy fans who love finding the best price-performance combination.” He was speaking during the launch of Nokia 5.1 in October 2018.
He had added that the phone’s AI imaging features were aimed at the Nokia fans. The smartphone was originally launched as an online exclusive. HMD Global is recommending a best buy price of Rs 10,599.

Nokia 5.1 Plus is powered by MediaTek Helio P60. Nokia claims that the advanced AI enables deep-learning face recognition and real-time photo enhancement. Equipped with all the essential sensors, users can experience the latest games and apps to their fullest. The face recognition also complements the inbuilt fingerprint security for fast unlocking and authentication.
Its advanced imaging allows capturing studio style shots with depth-sensing imaging, bokeh-effect and portrait lighting. The dual 13 MP/5 MP camera set-up with electronic video stabilisation also ensures steady and sharp videos. It has an 8 MP front camera.
It has a 5.8-inch display with 2.5D curved front and rear glass, complemented by curved edges and a high-gloss finish. It has a sturdy metal structure, quality tested in extreme temperatures. The phone runs on Android 8.1 Oreo and will receive three years of update support from Google. It is available in two colours – Gloss black and Gloss Midnight Blue.
