pic credits – Honor IndiaThe China-based smartphone maker,Honor has recently launched its latest smartphone named Honor View 20 in India. This was globally launched in Paris on 22 January 2018 and will be available in India at a starting price of Rs 37,999.
George Zhao, President of Honor had said that Honor’s strong business performance in 2018 saw a 170 per cent YoY increase in their overseas markets. This has brought them closer to their goal of becoming a ‘Top 5’ global smartphone brand within three years. They aim to become a tech brand loved by global youth. To better meet young people’s needs of technology, design, personal expression and community engagement,they upgrade the brand. This new branding will mark the next step in our global business growth.
Targeted at Rs 50,000 premium category
Honor View 20 smartphone has been launched in two variants, namely – 6GB+128GB priced at Rs 37,999, and 8GB+256GB variant at Rs 45,999 in India,suggests that it may be looking to capture market share in the Rs 30,000 to Rs 50,000 premium smartphone category in the country.
The category is majorly dominated by OnePlus in India.It currently offers premium smartphones OnePlus 6 and OnePlus 6T in almost similar prices as Honor View 20.

To be in the Top 5 global smartphone brands
At CES 2018,Honor had first mentioned about its goal to reach the top 5 global smartphone brands within three years. As per the reports, Honor has entered top 2 smartphone brands in Russia, and top 4 smartphone brands in Italy, Germany, Finland, Saudi Arabia, UAE, Ukraine, and top 5 brand in France, UK and Czech Republic.
Honor View 20 features
Honor had highlighted five world’s first features integrated in HONOR View 20 smartphone. These five include 48MP rear camera, 25MP in-screen front camera, 7nm Kirin 980 AI chipset, AI Triple-Antenna Wi-Fi technology and the aurora nanotexture design.
Its rear camera,is the first to be powered by the Sony IMX586 48MP sensor. The smartphone is powered by Kirin 980 chipset,processes photos using an advanced AI algorithm.
The All-View display houses a front-facing 25MP camera and offers 91.8 per cent screen-to-touch panel ratio. Connectivity options on the smartphone include an AI triple-antenna and Wi-Fi.It has equipped with a a 4,000 mAh battery and available in four colours,midnight black, sapphire blue and Moschino co-designed phantom blue and phantom red.
At the global launch of Honor View 20, It had also unveiled a new logo smartphone.Upgrading to capital letters Honor and adding moving color to it.This creative design enables Honor to converge aesthetic theory and cutting-edge technology to develop more stylish products for the global youth.
