Llyod Ropes in Ranveer and Deepika as Brand Ambassadors


Xiaomi had recently announced its tie-up with Ranveer Singh in India. It seems as if the actor is getting popular by the day in the consumer electronics industry

Ranveer Singh, who was last seen promoting Redmi Note 7 smartphone in India and his wife Deepika Padukone, who was last seen promoting Oppo smartphones in the country, have been hired as brand ambassadors by Havells owned Lloyd in India. Llyod product portfolio in the country includes washing machines, air conditioners, LED TVs and deep freezers.

Shashi Arora, CEO, Lloyd said, “Both Ranveer and Deepika are an inspiration to Indian millennials and portray a blend of talent, class and popularity that complements with Lloyd’s legacy and brand ethos. We are confident that this association will enable us explore new avenues for our continued growth and success and further strengthen our
positioning in the consumer durable segment. We welcome both Ranveer and Deepika to the Lloyd’s family.”

Looking to leverage Bollywood couple’s social media following?

Ranveer and Deepika have a massive fan following on social media and internet. Lloyd’s own statement claims that Ranveer and Deepika have a following of close to 90 million fans on social media. This following, as per Llyod, is a tempting platform for any company for its brands. Ranveer has a fan following of 11.8 million on Twitter alone. Deepika Padukone’s following on Twitter is 26 million strong.

The details of how much the company has paid to the duo are not out yet. However, the company has explained hiring Ranveer and Deepika as brand ambassadors as their personalities resonate with brand Lloyd.

Interestingly, Xiaomi had recently announced its tie-up with Ranveer Singh in India. Xiaomi had also said that Ranveer’s personality matched with its brand philosophy.

Lloyd’s official statement read, “Ranveer Singh & Deepika Padukone are together seen as a couple who represents the ideology of today’s youth and have strong individual imprints on young consumers, aka millennials. Their association is apt for the company as their personality resonates with brand Lloyd as both are trendsetters and have right ethos and vision.”
