OnePlus has announced that it is bringing back ‘The Lab’ program before the OnePlus 8 series launch. It will be shipping the upcoming smartphone to 10 users. They will give their “solid and unbiased” review on it.
The announcement by the company on its official forum also said that the phone will be shipped before the launch event and the users with the best reviews will get to keep the phone. As per reports, the OnePlus 8 series will be launched on 15th April.

The Lab announcement was posted on the company’s forum. The post also discussed how one can be part of the program. It called for tech enthusiasts who have thorough knowledge and passion for smartphones to send in their application. It will be reviewed by the community and the 10 reviewers will be announced on second April. After that, the phones will be shipped to these users and they will have to prepare their reviews. The reviews will then go live after the launch event that is likely to be held on 15th April. After evaluation, the final winner will be announced.
The post also said that six out of the 10 seats are reserved for those who created an account before the ‘The Lab’ is announced. OnePlus will select the 10 reviewers based on creativity, writing, photography, and videography skills. It will also take demographic information into account.
The post also gave details as to what the 10 reviewers will need to do once they get selected. it will include an AMA (Ask Me Anything) after 21 days of using the device along with curating the review. They will also sign a non-disclosure agreement before they receive the phones.
