Oppo to Launch K Series Smartphones on Flipkart: Report

This is the first time that Oppo is officially foraying into online channel sales. It is believed that the brand will now follow an all new multi-channel strategy

China-based smartphone maker Oppo is gearing up to launch its K-Series smartphones on Flipkart. This is the first time that the brand is taking the online route to launch a smartphone series in the country. The official launch will take place during the next two weeks of February.

It is to be noted here that Oppo, just like Vivo and OnePlus, operates under the umbrella of China-based BBK. While Vivo and OnePlus have strong online presence, Oppo is mre known for its presence in the offline sales channel. Interstingly, OnePlus has operated as an Amazon only brand in India till now.

This is also the first time that Oppo is officially foraying into online channel sales. It is believed that the brand will now follow an all new multi-channel strategy.

Oppo ramping its investment in India

The brand apart from its factory in Noida, has also announced major investments for setting up a Greenfield Electronic Manufacturing Cluster (EMC) in Greater Noida. Oppo’s new EMC, as per the brand, will be used to manufacture electronics and components locally in the country.

Oppo’s EMC project is being developed by the brand in association with Tegna Electronics and a few other companies. The brand had said that the project is expected to receive a total investment of Rs 3500 crores over a period of 5 to 10 years time.
