Xiaomi says that changed GST figures, as well as the recent dollar moderation, enabled it to offer permanent price cuts on some Mi LED TV models
Two months after increasing the prices of various Mi smartphone and Mi LED TV models, Xiaomi has announced a permanent price cut on some of its LED TV offerings in the Indian market. The prices of Mi LED Smart TV 4A 32, Mi LED TV 4C Pro 32 and Mi LED TV 4A Pro 49 models have already been reduced in the country.
A tweet made through the official Xiaomi India Twitter handle read, “Mi fans! There couldn’t be a better beginning. Get your hands on TVs from India’s number 1 Smart TV Brand at an unbeatable price, starting today. How’s this for a New Year gift?”
Revised GST and recent dollar moderation helped in slashing prices
Xiaomi said that changed GST figures as well as the recent dollar moderation enabled it to offer permanent price cuts on some of the Mi LED TV models.
Manu Kumar Jain, MD, Xiaomi India tweeted, “Boom! Great news for all our Mi Fans. Starting the New Year with a bang! Make the most of the new GST rule and get your hands on your favourite TV from India’s number 1 Smart TV Brand. Price drop up to ₹2000, effective from today!”
It is to be mentioned here that Xiaomi had claimed selling more than 1 million TVs in India last year. The China-based electronic appliances manufacturer had also announced that it had sold over 8.5 million devices during the festive season (Diwali) in the country.
Price drops by up to Rs 2,000
The 32-inch Mi LED Smart TV 4A, which was released by the brand last year, has received a Rs 1,500 price cut. The new price for this Mi LED TV model stands at Rs 12,499 in the country. Mi LED TV 4C Pro 32, which the company had launched during the second half of 2018, has got a price cut of Rs 2,000. It will now be available for purchase at Rs 13,999.
Xiaomi has also announced a price cut of Rs 1,000 on 49 inch MI LED TV 4A Pro 49 models. This Mi TV will now be available for Rs 30,999 in India. It is to be noted here that Xiaomi had originally launched this TV for Rs 29,999. The prices were than revised to Rs 31,999 in November 2018 citing rupee’s depreciating value.
