Xiaomi Launches Next Day Guaranteed Delivery Service in India

Apart from selling its products through e-commerce portals, Xiaomi also retails these via its own website. The China headquartered company also has a cross-border e-commerce app

China-headquartered Xiaomi has started express delivery services for products brought through its website in India. The company said that it will be charging Rs 49 for every next day delivery service.

Manu Kumar Jain, Global VP, Xiaomi, in a tweet, said, “Xiaomi is much more than just a smartphone brand! We are also an e-commerce company. Mi is the number 3 e-comm platform in India! Launching ‘Guaranteed Next-Day delivery’ at honest price Rs 49! For orders placed by 3 pm, 90+ products, across 150+ cities!”

Interestingly, Xiaomi is also saying that it is the number three e-commerce platform in India. The first two spots are held by Amazon and Flipkart.

Xiaomi also operates a cross border e-commerce app

Xiaomi, in February 2019, had also launched a cross-border e-commerce platform in India. Dubbed ShareSave, the compnay had said that it will be using the app to retail its ecosystem products in India. These products are otherwise only available in China.

Company’s official statement had read, “ShareSave, will serve as a a testing ground for key markets, allowing Xiaomi to learn more about the local demand for various types of product. Xiaomi is famous for driving a community-based culture in the country. Its key officials not only take regular parts in Mi-fan events but also post photographs with Mi users from all over the country.”

Xiaomi is a top smartphone player in India

The company, since its arrival in India, has enjoyed good response from the users. Several reports be research companies have said that Xiaomi has been leading the smartphone market in India for past several quarters.

Xiaomi, as per a recent IDC repoty, maintained its leadership position, growing YoY by 8.1 per cent in 1Q19. There were multiple new launches by Xiaomi, namely the Redmi Note 7 series along with Redmi Go. Xiaomi also continued to dominate the online channel with 48.6 per cent share in 1Q19.
