- Xiaomi, for the first time, will retail its 55-inch 4K smart TV through Vijay Sales
- The company has said that it is number one in the smart TVs market in India
Manu Kumar Jain, Global VP, Xiaomi, took to Twitter to announce the availability of Xiaomi’s latest smart TV at Vijay Sales Stores in India. Unlike, all other smart TVs from Xiaomi, the company will be retailing this one both through offline as well as online sales channel. Interestingly, Xiaomi Mi LED TV 4 Pro has recently received a price cut as well. It is currently being retailed for Rs 47,999 on Flipkart e-commerce portal.
Jain tweeted, “Super excited, launched Mi TV in Vijay Sales, along with Mr Nilesh Gupta, CEO of retail chain! Xiaomi India has become number 1 Smart TV brand in India, with Mi TV capturing more than 34 per cent market share. Hopefully this will further grow with offline expansion!
“We are thrilled to partner exclusively with Vijay Sales to bring our 55-inch Mi LED 4 PRO TV offline for our users,” Sunil Baby, director, Xiaomi India, Offline Operations, said in a statement.
More than 34 per cent market share?
While Xiaomi expanding in the offline smart TV market in India, is a big development for the industry, Jain’s tweet mentioning that Xiaomi has captured more than 34 per cent smart TV market in the country seems to be a bigger one. Jain, last year, had also announced on the social networking website that Xiaomi had sold more than in million TVs in the country.
The company also recently said that IDC’s Smart Home Device Tracker Report for Q2, Q3 and Q4 2018 ranks Xiaomi Mi televisions as the number one smart TV brand in India. However, whether the brand shipped these TVs or sold them to the end consumer is still not clear.
Sunil baby added, “We hope that we can continue to expand our portfolio offline in order to provide an even more enhanced consumer experience through highest quality products at an honest pricing.”
