Xiaomi Takes the Anytime Sale Route For K20 Series in India

Xiaomi has started retailing its flagship K20 and K20 pro smartphones in India. These smartphones are competitions to Realme’s recently launched Realme X and Oneplus smartphones in the country.

Manu Kumar Jain, global VP, Xiaomi tweeted, “Mi fans, here goes! Redmi K20 Pro and Redmi K20 will be on anytime sale starting 12 noon, today on Mi website and Flipkart! So make the most of it by grabbing the fastest phone in the world at your convenience. Flagshp killer!”

Interestingly, this is one of those rare times when Xiaomi has put up a phone series on anytime sale mode. The China-based smartphone company is otherwise quite known for organising smartphone sales that does ot last more than a few minutes.

Mixed reaction

Xiaomi’s first flagship smartphones, K20 and K20 Pro, have received mixed reactions from people in India. While some agreed to Xiaomi’s flagship killer tag, other stated that the phones are over priced for Mi tag. It is also to be noted here that Realme had launched Realme X around the same time Xiaomi K20 and K20 Pro were launched.

BBK which owns Realme, Vivo, Oppo, Xiaomi, Reno, Oneplus and Iqoo smartphone brands had also launched Oneplus 7 series earlier this year. Both Xiaomi and Realme are focusing on expanding in the offline space in the country.

Realme and Xiaomi are in the top 10 OEMs list

Realme, as per a recent report by Counterpoint Research, entered the top 10 OEMs globally for the first time. It took Realme only a year to achieve this feat. This is one of the fastest ramp-ups. Strong performance in India and expansion overseas drove its growth.

This was also the third consecutive quarter that Realme sold within top five brands in India. BBK which is the parent company of Realme, Oppo, Vivo, Oneplus, Iqoo and Reno smartphone brands, is now the second-largest smartphone manufacturer globally. Xioami is also a part of that list.
