Redmi Confirms K20 Series as its First Flagship

Xiaomi has not yet revealed about its plans for Poco’s future. Redmi’s first flagship will have two smartphones in the line-up

Redmi K20 series

China-based Redmi has launched K20 and K20 pro smartphones in its home country at prices of RMB 1999 and RMB 2499 respectively. These prices, converted into Indian Rupee, translate into Rs 20,060 and Rs 25,080 approximately. It is a big possibility that Xiaomi will introduce these smartphones at prices near to the ones mentioned in India.

The official MI India Twitter handle, today tweeted,”More Time to get you all charged up to cheer the men in blue. RT if you know what’s coming.” The company is probably hinting towards the launch of K20 series smartphones in India. Interestingly, K20 has a blue colored variant as well.

It is also to be noted here that Xiaomi K20 ads can now be seen next to billboard advertisements of OnePlus 7 Pro. Manu Kumar Jain, Global VP, Xiaomi, had earlier tweeted about the same.

The upcoming Redmi K20 Pro sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 855, a 6.39-inch full screen Display, a 20 MP pop-up front camera and a rear 48 MP triple camera setup. Its sibling, Redmi K20, on the other hand sports Qualcomm Snapdragon 730 chipset.

Xiaomi’s official statement read, “Both Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro come with the new Game Turbo 2.0 for an ultimate gaming experience by optimizing touch response, display, sound quality, network and in-game calls. Touch response rate goes up to 180Hz, while click and touch response times are reduced to about 70 milliseconds, the new Redmi devices are able to offer an Esports-level gaming experience.”

It continued, “Offering an AI triple camera setup, Redmi K20 and K20 Pro feature a main 48MP camera with 1/2″ Sony flagship sensor that can produce ultra-high resolution photos. For night portraits, the camera sensor supports merging four pixels to form large 1.6μm pixels to capture more details in low-light conditions. In addition to the 48MP main camera, the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro also feature a 13MP ultra wide-angle lens and 8MP telephoto lens. The options offered by the combination of these three lenses can cover most settings, delivering a SLR-like photography experience.”

Redmi K20 and Redmi K20 Pro both sport a 20MP pop-up front-facing camera with a sapphire glass cover. The company has equipped both these phones with 4000mAh batteries each. Redmi K20 Pro supports 27W wired quick charge. It charges up to 58 per cent in 30 mins and can be fully charged in 73 mins. Redmi K20 supports up to 18W charging.
