The LG rollable OLED TV features three different viewing angles. It will hit retail stores at a starting price of approximately $ 8,000
LG Electronics has introduced the world’s first rollable OLED TV at CES 2019. Dubbed LG SIGNATURE OLED TV R (model 65R9), the brand is also calling it as the ‘wallpaper TV’. The TV will make its official entry into the premium TV segment later this year.
Interestingly, Samsung is also showcasing the Frame at CES 2019. The Frame, as per Samsung, is a TV offering in the premium segment.
An official statement released by the brand read, “LG has created a TV with a display that seems to magically appear and disappear, a revolutionary innovation that seems to defy logic. The “R” in the new LG SIGNATURE OLED TV R is about creating a revolution in home entertainment and redefining space through its ability to rise and roll-up at the touch of a button.”

LG rollable OLED TV features
LG SIGNATURE OLED TV R, as per the company, offers three different viewing options – Full View, Line View and Zero View. Full View delivers a large-screen viewing experience revealing the full extent of the contrast, depth and realism. The picture and sound quality in the full view is powered by LG’s second generation α (Alpha) 9 intelligent processor and a deep learning algorithm. In addition to support for Amazon Alexa, this new rollable OLED TV also features Apple AirPlay 2 (itines) and HomeKit (Siri).
Line View allows the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV R to be partially unrolled, allowing for management of specific tasks that do not require the full TV screen. In Line View, users can choose from features such as clock, frame, mood, music and home dashboard. Invoking clock mode helps check time and weather at a glance, while the Frame mode is made for viewing photos shared from a smartphone. LG claims that the Mood mode on their latest rollable OLED TV helps create a relaxing atmosphere.
In Zero View, all 65 inches of the LG SIGNATURE OLED TV R get hidden from viewing. Zero view actually works more like a soundbar or a home theater system where users can play music and other audio content which emanates from a 4.2-channel, 100W front-firing Dolby Atmos audio system. LG rollable OLED TV also features brushed aluminum casing and quality wool speaker cover designed by Kvadrat of Denmark.
