According to a report by LetsGoDigital, Apple is likely to ship a high-end 2020 iPhone model with Touch ID embedded in the display.

The report noted that Apple’s suppliers are finalising the development of a full-screen display for this year’s iPhone model. It is to be noted here that Apple had earlier applied for three design patents in Japan for a smartphone without any display notch.

An in-display fingerprint sensor

In an investor note issued by Credit Suisse last year, the Swiss financial services provider claimed that Apple will introduce a new iPhone model in 2021 with an in-display fingerprint sensor.

As per a report by Digitimes, Apple has told its supply chain partners to expect over 100 million orders for the iPhone 12 in 2020. For 2019, Apple had predicted iPhone 11 and iPhone 11 Pro were expected to sell around 80 million units.

Apple Analyst Ming-Chi Kuo believes the ‘iPhone SE 2’ will sell at least 20 million units in its first calendar year of availability. He also said that it can go up to 30 million units if all goes well for Apple.
