In line with United Nations’ Sustainable Development Goal 4 (SDG4), Haier said it aims to support inclusive and equitable quality education. With this partnership, Haier has inaugurated a Centre for Excellence at a government funded school in Sakipur Village, Zeta I, Greater Noida, Uttar Pradesh, India.

Haier and Aarohan share a common vision of providing better education to the girl students thereby creating a noble difference in their lives. We believe that educating and empowering the girl child is among the most impactful way of contributing to the development of families, society, and the future of the nation.”
Socio-economically less-privileged backgrounds
Through this pilot project, the consumer appliances major looks to address the needs of education in socio-economically less-privileged backgrounds. The company will be focusing on foundation teaching, digital literacy, personality development, nutrition and healthcare of the students.
Haier’s official statement read, “Taking inspiration from UN’s Sustainable Development Goal (4), Haier seeks to eliminate gender disparity in education and ensure that the girl students are provided with relevant educational and technical skills to be able to become self-reliant and self-sustainable tomorrow. In collaboration with Aarohan, the company will be focusing on foundation teaching, digital literacy, personality development, nutrition and healthcare of the students through innovative and new-age learning modules like smart classes and interactive sessions.”
It continued, “Through a stringent hiring programme, the center has employed teaching experts in core subjects like Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry and English to ensure students get the additional after-school support with their curriculum. These daily classroom sessions focus on learning not by rote but by using interactive smart tools that aid in better retention of knowledge which is regularly mapped through evaluation tests to track improvement in learning outcomes.”

Haier India’s Center for Excellence is equipped with a computer lab, smart boards and LED TVs, air conditioners and refrigerator. The centre aims to decrease the learning gap by imparting skill-based knowledge to the students.
