LG Electronics Has Completed 22 Years in India

The Korea based consumer electronics giant organised a blood donation drive across the country as a CSR initiative

On occasion of LG Electronics India’s 22nd anniversary, the company organised a blood donation drive across 47 cities in the country. The drive took place on Saturday, May 11, 2019. LG rolled out this initiative through radio, digital and on-ground activations at retail stores inviting Indian citizens to donate blood.

Umesh Dhal, Director and CRO, LG Electronics India said, “The most valuable gift a human can give to another is Blood. We can create blood relation with other fellow citizens and build strong bond with nation, this gesture will make us Proud Life Saviors. This can bring real strength to our nation.”

The CSR initiative is led in association with National Blood Transfusion Council (NBTC), Ministry of health and family welfare, Govt. of India.

LG’s Q1 2019 revenue was lesser than its Q1 2018 revenue (Global)

LG Electronics Inc. (LG) had earlier announced consolidated sales of KRW 14.92 trillion (USD 13.27 billion) and operating profit of KRW 900.6 billion (USD 801.25 million) for the first quarter of 2019. The company had said that though overall first-quarter revenues and operating income declined somewhat in 2019 versus 2018, the home appliance company reported record first-quarter sales and profits.

The Korea based company had also mentioned that its operating income was 1,090 per cent higher than the fourth quarter of 2018. Interestingly, Samsung had also recently shared loss figures for Q1 2019. India is on of the key markets for LG.
