The official Mi TV India Twitter handle has announced the Android 9 update. The update will be rolled out in a phased manner, so all users won’t get it the update instantly.
Mi TV users will be able to access Google Play Store, Google Assistant, Play Movies, Play Music and built-in Chromecast support.
Leading brand in the smart TV segment
Xiaomi is the leading brand in the smart TV segment on Flipkart in terms of value. Xiaomi says that the Mi TVs are bestsellers across partner platforms during the sale as well. The Mi TV 4C Pro and Mi TV 4A Pro are ranked one and two respectively on Amazon India.
Eshwar Nilakanta, category lead, MiTV, Xiaomi India said, “Our Smart TV business was born in 2018 and it has flourished well in India. We hit our first million in India within eight months of origin and two million in another five months.”
Recently, Xiaomi also announced that it has shipped more than one million Mi LED TVs in India during last nine months. These figures include Mi LED TV variants sold across all platforms.
