According to a report by TechCrunch.com, Samsung has sold one million Galaxy Fold smartphones globally. Samsung Electronics’ President Young Sohn revealed the information at TechCrunch’s Disrupt Berlin event.
The report stated that Samsung is reportedly already working on its next Galaxy Fold device, and is rumored to launch it at the MWC in Barcelona by the end of February and may cost around $1,000.
Galaxy Fold smartphone in India
Recently, Samsung launched the Galaxy Fold smartphone in India. The company made the phone available for pre-booking at a price of Rs 1,64,999 online on its online store, Samsung shops, and offline stores in 35 cities across 315 outlets.
According to Samsung, Galaxy Fold has two screens, an 11.684 cm (4.6-inch) HD+ Super AMOLED (21:9) cover display on the front with 840×1960 pixels resolution and a 7.3-inch QXGA+ Dynamic AMOLED tablet screen with 4.2:3 aspect ratio when the phone is unfolded with 1536×2152 pixels resolution. The phone has 12GB of RAM and 512GB internal storage and Samsung is selling the phone in premium cosmos color.
Galaxy Fold is equipped with six cameras on the phone including three on the back when folded in phone mode, one in front in phone mode and two inside in tablet mode. Samsung said that the phone has two batteries on two sides which give a total battery of 4,380mAh.
