According to a report by IANS, Realme’s CEO and founder Sky Li has disclosed a policy change via a Weibo post that from next year the company will only release 5G mobile phones in China.
Focus on the flagship segment
The CEO informed that Realme will focus on the flagship segment. He added that the company is mulling to bring 5G to mid-range and budget phones next year, to make them more popular and easily accessible to young customers.
According to a report by Reuters, Xiaomi will launch 10 new smartphones enabled with 5G support next year. Xiaomi CEO Lei Jun said this at the World Internet Conference in Wuzhen, China.
The world’s largest supplier of mobile phone chips, Qualcomm Inc also expects global smartphone makers to ship 450 million 5G handsets in 2021 and another 750 million in 2022.
Also, Realme is all set to launch its first 5G phones the Realme X50 and X50 Youth Edition in China.
